Application modernisation without the big, risky switchover.
Many Indian businesses run on software someone built years ago: a desktop billing program, an old PHP site, a FoxPro or Access database, a server in a back room, or a set of Excel sheets only one person understands. It still works, mostly, but it is hard to change, harder to secure, and nobody wants to touch it. Application modernisation moves it to the cloud in stages, keeping the data and the hard-won business rules inside it.

What is application modernisation?
Application modernisation is moving ageing software, such as a desktop program, an old PHP or .NET application, an Excel-based system or an on-premise server, to modern, supported technology, usually in the cloud, while keeping its data and business rules. It is usually done in stages rather than in one big switchover.
Old systems also stand between many businesses and AI, GST e-invoicing and the integrations customers now expect. Big switchovers tend to go over budget. Working in stages, each with its own fixed quote in rupees, means the cost of every step is known before it starts.

How a modernisation runs.
Nothing lost in the move.
The real value in an old system is rarely the code. It is the data and the rules: the dealer discount that only applies in one state, the client who is billed differently. We write down every rule we find, test the new system against the old one with real data and keep the old one available until you are confident. You end up with modern software and, often for the first time, a written record of how your business actually works.
Often built alongside it.
Frequently asked questions.
Should we rebuild it or switch to off-the-shelf software?
It depends on how much of your advantage lives in the system. If a standard package now does the job, we will say so and help you migrate to it. If your processes are what make you different, rebuilding them properly usually costs less over time than bending a generic tool.
Can you work on a system nobody understands any more?
Yes. That describes most of them. We read the code, the database and the logs, talk to the people who use it, and write down what it does before we change anything. Our Project Rescue service covers systems where access or ownership is also in doubt.
Can our data stay in India?
Yes. AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud all have Indian regions, and we can host your application, database, backups and logs there. Some AI and email services process data outside India, so before the move we list every service that touches your data and where it runs, and name each one in the Data Processing Addendum.
Will the business have to stop while you switch over?
No. We run the new system alongside the old one, compare the results and switch over in stages at quiet times, such as after the month-end close, with a tested route back if anything looks wrong. Your team keeps working on the old system until the new one has proved itself.
Can you get our systems ready for GST e-invoicing?
Yes. E-invoicing applies once your turnover has crossed ₹5 crore in any year since 2017-18, and each B2B invoice then needs an IRN from the e-invoice portal. We connect custom and older systems to the portal, or to Tally Prime or Zoho Books, so the data flows digitally. Your CA stays your adviser on what you must file.
How is modernisation priced?
In stages, each with a fixed, itemised quote in rupees after an assessment of the existing system, with any GST shown separately, paid in milestones. You can stop after any stage and keep what was delivered. Hosting and licence costs are estimated up front and shown separately.
